keeping healthy, keeping safe week
We have been looking at all the different people who help us, PC Steve came into nursery to talk to us about who is a safe stranger and who can help us, he also showed us his police car. It was a lot of fun! We also went for a walk to talk about how and where we can cross the road safely, remember STOP LOOK AND LISTEN.
We have also launched our supervised teeth brushing campaign, this will be done as well as teeth brushing at home.
There’s lots of fun to be had in nursery. You can sort, explore the water area, climb, paint or just have a good old roll around the garden!
This week we had a visitor in nursery – Henry the hedgehog, he had lost his family and needed help find them.
After a good think we decided the best place to look for them would be the local park so we wrapped up warm and went looking. Unfortunately we didn’t find his family, but we did see a squirrel high up in a tree.
When we got back to nursery we spoke about hibernation and that Henry was going to need a safe warm place to stay over winter.
We made some lovely cosy hedgehog houses so we know that Henry will be safe and warm while he hibernates.
Santa’s reindeer are very busy on Christmas Eve, so the boys and girls in main nursery have made bags of magic reindeer food to keep them going.
It’s Christmas crafts galore and sensory play in Meadow Group.
Whilst Meadow Group are out visiting a garden centre, Wetlands Group and Woodlands Group are having great fun exploring the indoor and outdoor resources.
We had a wonderful day in nursery for Polar express day. The children had a lot of fun,
We have also had a visit to the post office to post our letters to Santa, we hope to hear back soon.
Preparing our Christmas decorations is keeping us busy in nursery this week, but it’s good to get outdoors in between the rain showers.
This week we have started our winter artwork ready to be displayed, the children have also been enjoying our sessions in the outdoor classroom.
